About this event
Having had 3 fruitful LICMF, this fourth festival focusing on Chinese music will take place at SOAS between the 24-28 August. It offers a unique platform for training, graded examinations, competitions, performances, and cultural exchange across the UK, Europe and beyond.
Participants in the graded exams and competitions will receive certificates with dual accreditation from both Chinese and British authorities, and top performers will have the opportunity to appear in the festival concerts.
It is an ideal summer activity for young people. The daily schedule features instrumental lessons (including traditional percussion) in the morning; choir or ensemble sessions, lectures, and workshops in the afternoon; and concerts in the evening. The week-long festival brings together a rich and diverse program focusing on skill development, expert performances and hands-on experience in which participants will share the appreciation of Chinese music in the contemporary West.
