About this event

The second edition of the Asian Development Policy Report (ADPR) 2025, an annual flagship report of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) that addresses developing Asia’s salient development challenges, delves into the topic of 'Harnessing Digital Transformation for Good'.

Asia is highly vulnerable to climate change and its inclusive development remains very much a work in progress. Digital transformation holds immense promise as a tool to propel low carbon and inclusive development in the region but also poses serious climate and inclusion challenges. Therefore, a policy framework that aligns digital transformation with climate and inclusion goals is essential if Asia is to successfully leverage digital transformation for good.

The report is based on interesting new empirical research on the link between digital transformation on the one hand and climate change and inclusive development on the other. Examples include firm-level evidence on the relationship between AI and employment in Korea and cross-country evidence on the association between digitalisation and energy consumption in Asia.
