About this event
This conference will examine diverse expressions of Buddhism in Africa, from monastic communities and Buddhist charities to meditation practices, interfaith initiatives, and diasporic communities.
Over three days, scholars and practitioners from a range of disciplines will share their research and experiences, assessing the African journeys of the Dharma and the impact these are having — and will continue to have — on both the region and the Buddhist tradition.
The programme, schedule, and list of participants will be uploaded closer to the date of the event.
This conference is organised by the SOAS Centre of Buddhist Studies. The event is part of the Yin-Cheng Network of Buddhist Studies, and kindly sponsored by the Tzu Chi Foundation.
