About this event
What happens when translation moves beyond transmitting meaning to attempt to transmit the aural, visual, and formal qualities (rhyme, meter, parallelism, etc.) of one language into another?
What if translation could move beyond the scope of translating the meaning of one text into the meaning of another but to translate whole systems of poetics at scale? In this talk we will explore a wide variety of experimental translation, transliteration, and interlanguage projects that blur the boundaries between Chinese and English.
