About this event
During the summer school students will attend lectures delivered by leading academics, debate key issues, engage in study skills sessions and find out more about university life and the UCAS process.
Students will meet recent graduates, work with current SOAS students and complete a group project with peers. There are three pathways to choose from:
- Cross-Cultural Connections - exploring History, Philosophies, Arts and Languages & Cultures
- Thriving Futures - exploring Economics, Finance and Global Development
- Law and Society - exploring Law, Anthropology and Politics
Widening Participation
The SOAS Year 12 Outreach Summer School is a widening participation activity designed to give students a first-class experience of study at HE level. It is for Year 12 students attending state schools and colleges. It is free and non-residential (we will cover travel costs for eligible students who live outside the London Oyster Card 16+ zone), and will take place at SOAS University of London, London WC1H 0XG.
Students who meet at least one of the following criteria will be prioritised:
- First generation in family to attend university in the UK
- Eligible or previously eligible for Free School Meals
- Experience of Local Authority care
- From an area underrepresented in higher education (as measured by TUNDRA data)
Application
Students can apply individually to attend. To apply, please complete the Year 12 Summer School online application form.
Application deadline is 9:00am on Friday 25 April 2025.
