Biography
After graduating in Global Studies with a minor in Gender Studies at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), Irina worked in advocacy for the rights of migrant people in European border contexts between 2021 and 2024. Her focus was on Patras (Greece) and the Spanish southern border - mainly Ceuta and the Canary Islands - where she worked both as a volunteer and through her employed position at Novact (International Institute of Nonviolent Action).
In Barcelona she also worked on antiracist policy for the Barcelona City Hall and engaged in social work related to racism, migration, gender and social justice. Following the obtention of the “La Caixa” Foundation Fellowship, she moved to London in 2024 to pursue an MA in Migration and Diaspora Studies at SOAS.
