Biography

Munia Muzammel Shethi is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics, building on an exceptional academic and professional foundation. 

She graduated with distinction from the MSc Economics program at SOAS, University of London, ranking in the top 1% of her class and achieving high distinction on her master’s dissertation. 

Her academic journey began with a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) from Durham University, where she developed a robust interdisciplinary perspective. Before embarking on her doctoral studies, Munia garnered substantial experience in finance, working with renowned investment banks and influential research think tanks. 

This unique blend of advanced economic research and high-level industry experience equips her with the insights and skills to shape the future of the financial landscape, championing efficiency and innovation in impactful ways.

Alongside her PhD research, she is also teaching the Microeconomic Analysis module to undergraduate students at SOAS, further solidifying her expertise in economic theories and its applications, and demonstrating her commitment to both scholarship and education.
