Charlotte Horlyck mentioned in South Korean news

Dr Charlotte Horlyck , Reader in the History of Korean Art at SOAS, has been featured in a newspaper article in the Dong-A Ilbo, a popular daily newspaper published in South Korea.

The article, published on July 18th 2022 , discusses Korean artefacts in museum collections in Europe and America and the research the Overseas Korean Culture Heritage Foundation (OKCHF) is initiating and funding to better understand their collecting histories. Dr Horlyck was mentioned because she has received a 12-month grant from the OKCHF which will commence in December 2022. The project will investigate Korean artefacts in UK collections that were acquired around the turn of the 20th century by British diplomats, businessmen and missionaries. During the grant period Jess Son , Dr Horlyck's PhD student, will be employed as a postdoctoral researcher.
