SOAS statement on the death of Her Majesty The Queen

Following the announcement of the passing of Her Majesty The Queen, the Director of SOAS University of London has expressed his condolences on behalf of the institution.

Professor Adam Habib, said: “We now enter a sombre period of national mourning as we say goodbye to a Sovereign who has devoted her whole life to her country and family. 

“I’m sure all of the SOAS community will join me as I express my deepest sympathies to the Queen’s family at this very sad time.

“The Queen led an admirable life and was our longest reigning monarch and a much-loved and devoted mother, grandmother and wife too. 

“Our thoughts and sympathies are with all members of the Royal Family on this very sad day."

The School has lowered the flag.
