Biography

Dr Obioma Cosmas Iwuagwu is a Consultant Radiologist with extensive clinical, academic, and leadership experience. He holds an LLM in Medical Law from Northumbria University, an MA (Merit) in African Studies from SOAS University of London, and an MBBS from the University of Nigeria.  

He is currently a Doctoral Research Fellow (PhD) in Politics and International Studies at SOAS, researching on the African Sahel region. He completed specialist training in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology in Munich and Düsseldorf, Germany, obtaining board certification from the AerzteKammer NordRhein in 2002. His professional qualifications include FRCR (UK), FWACS, and FAfDR (Germany). Dr Iwuagwu worked as a Consultant Radiologist at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust from 2003 to 2010, where he served as Clinical Director for Radiology. 

He subsequently moved to London Northwest University Healthcare NHS Trust at Ealing Hospital. He currently practices as Consultant Radiologist at Milton Keynes University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. In addition, he serves as Medical Director for Ultrasound Services at Omnes HealthCare UK Ltd, overseeing multiple clinical sites across London. He has published peer-reviewed research in radiology journals in both English and German. He is the Founder and Lead Consultant of Human Race Specialist Medical Centre in Naze, Nigeria
