Dr Peter Knaack is a Research Associate at the Centre for Sustainable Finance at SOAS University of London.
He is also Adjunct Professor at the School of International Service at American University, and Associate at the Council on Economic Policies in Zurich. His work focuses on inclusive green finance, climate and transition finance, digital sustainable finance, and global financial governance.
At the SOAS Centre for Sustainable Finance, he has contributed to research and capacity building on how central banks and financial supervisors can integrate financial inclusion with climate and environmental objectives and support a just transition. His current research examines how sustainability data, digital infrastructure, financial products, and public incentives can expand green and transition finance for small companies, drawing on fieldwork in China and ASEAN.
His wider work addresses climate-related financial risk, biodiversity and financial inclusion, transition planning, financial regulation, and China’s role in global financial governance, combining academic research with policy advice and capacity building for financial authorities and international organizations.
