Biography
Phyllis Lau-Casson is a co-convenor of the Arts of Southeast Asia module of the SOAS-Alphawood Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Art.
She kindled her interest in art history by taking selected modules on the SOAS-Alphawood Postgraduate Diploma in Asian Art. Subsequently, she completed an MA in History of Art at SOAS and recently completed her doctoral research project on the so-called Prakhon Chai bronzes, to reassess a corpus of some 100 Buddhist statues of uncertain age and origin from archaeological, technical, iconographic, stylistic and market perspectives.
Phyllis came from a background in management consultancy. Away from her research she has many interests, but a particular passion for bonsai.
