Biography
Zeyu is currently a PhD research student in accounting at the School of Finance and Management at SOAS University of London.
Before joining SOAS, Zeyu obtained an MSc with Distinction in Accounting and Finance at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), specializing with corporate finance and corporate financial disclosures. After the MSc, Zeyu passed trainings in Environmental Economics and Sustainable Development at LSE with distinction performance.
Zeyu also holds a BA in Business Studies with first class honours at the University of Liverpool, with a pathway in accounting and financial management. With his background in accounting and financial management and his interests in environment and sustainable development, Zeyu is interested in research topics on corporate reporting and disclosures for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Environment, Society and Governance (ESG), as well as sustainability and climate change issues.
In the PhD projects, Zeyu investigates the quality of sustainability and climate-related disclosures made by firms listed in the UK, where Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools and pre-trained Large Language Models (LLMs) are used as the key methodologies to assess the informativeness and truthfulness of climate-related information disclosed to financial and non-financial stakeholders. Within the department, Zeyu also works as a graduate teaching assistant and teaches tutorials for an undergraduate course in management accounting.
