Taught Masters offer holders

Now that you are holding an offer to study with us, you will find information here about your offer and studies at SOAS. Your offer is valid only for the programme, the start date, and the mode of study specified in the offer letter. Please refer to the guidelines, the FAQs pages or as per the instruction of the Admissions Team. 

In order to secure your place you will be required to pay a deposit which will be offset against your tuition fee for the programme. Please refer to the paying the postgraduate deposit page before accepting the offer. You should also read the deposit FAQs, our refund policy and terms and conditions before making the payment.

Programme transfers are at the discretion of the School and decisions will take into account the student’s qualifications on entry, modules taken and grades achieved, availability of places and any programme-specific requirements. Changes of degree programme are not permitted later than the end of week 2 of an academic year.

Unconditional offer

Enrolment information is only sent out to unconditional offer holders who have accepted their offer through the online system. Information on enrolment will be sent from early September. You will be issued with a six digit number which will remain your student reference number throughout your enrolment at SOAS. You will need your six digit number when doing things like paying your tuition fees, enrolling during welcome week, using the library and when making general enquiries as an enrolled student.

Conditional offer

Overseas students

If your offer is conditional on submitting academic results, English language documents or any other evidence please forward any relevant documentation as soon as possible to the admissions team ( If you need to apply for a student visa you must ensure all the conditions are met as early as possible.

If your degree certificate and/or transcripts are not in English, you are required to provide the Admissions Office with a colour scanned copy of the original documents together with a scanned copy of the same document translated into English by a recognised translator. Documents certified by the awarding university may be sufficient. Please bear in mind that we may ask to see certified hard copies of original documents. A CAS can only be issued once the offer is unconditional and you must take into consideration the processing time of your visa application.

Home students

You can submit evidence of meeting your conditions no later than 31 August 2022 unless an earlier date is mentioned in the offer letter.
