Foundation College

The Foundation College at SOAS provides courses leading on to further study. Most of these routes are to SOAS' undergraduate courses, but we also have some pre-Masters courses too. Part of our work clearly involves equipping you with the skills for further study - be that writing, close reading, working with sources, or for some international students working on language skills. What we are proud to do at SOAS though, that sets up apart, is offer Foundation Courses with lots of exciting, stimulating and broad academic content. Much of this asks students to challenge the status quo, to think beyond preconceptions and offer their own opinions and well-researched views as to how things might be different in the future. Welcome to SOAS Foundation College. We provide courses for both UK and International Students,to help them find routes onto the courses here at SOAS. For those whose A-level (or equivalent) grades don't meet the high levels normally needed for SOAS Undergraduate courses - look at our Foundation Year options, and for International Students, especially if you need to get your English Language skills up to a higher academic standard - see the IFCELS part of our offering.

Our goal is to make the life-changing educational opportunities of SOAS as available as possible to a wider-range of students, and to support them to ensure they not only get a place- but thrive once they are on it.
