The Garden Halls accommodates 1200 students in a variety of options, including townhouses.
The Hall is centrally located on Cartwright Gardens, 8 minute walk from the SOAS campus and within walking distance to Oxford Street, Soho and Convent Garden, and transport links across London and the UK. The Eurostar terminal is 15 minute walk away.
Garden Halls offers a mix of self-catered and catered accommodation. Breakfast (brunch at weekends) and dinner are served every day in the spacious dining room. Please visit the Intercollegiate Halls catering page for more information.
The hall provides social and sporting activities and all students are encouraged to join in with the social life of the hall. The hall offers a dedicated team of trained Wardens and Residential Advisors (RAs) that are available to support you with any personal, social, or wellbeing concerns and to help you access additional help as needed.
The Garden Halls are managed by the University of London.

Applications and fees 2026/27
Tenancy start dates 13 September 2026 to 19 June 2027 (40 weeks) or 13 September 2026 to 28 August 2027 (50 weeks).
- Guarantor not required
- £500 deposit to be paid at the point of booking
- Self-catered accommodation, except for Single Ensuite Catered
- 8 mins walk from SOAS
Please note: there are no studios at this hall. Please only select from the options below if you wish to stay in Garden Halls.
