Key information

  • Duration: semesters 1 or 2 only, or a full academic year.
  • Attendance mode: full time (four modules per semester).
  • Start of programme: September 2026 (semester 1) or January 2027 (semester 2).
  • Application deadline: 30 June 2026 for semester 1, and 30 October 2026 for semester 2.

Accommodation

SOAS Study Abroad work closely with the Accommodation Team to secure housing options for students. Semester-only students can apply for a semester-long contract to stay at Dinwiddy House. Full year students can apply for accommodation at any undergraduate or postgraduate halls depending on their scheme. 

Once students have received their letter of acceptance, the Study Abroad Team will share further information on how students can apply for these options. 

Academic calendar

Full year study abroad students follow the SOAS Academic Calendar

Semester 1 study abroad students finish earlier, with their final day before the Christmas break being 11 December 2026. 

Semester 2 study abroad students are required to attend a compulsory orientation week and therefore begin at SOAS on 11 January 2027.
