In the UK the test is administered by the SOAS Japan Research Centre (and separately at Cardiff University and the University of Edinburgh) on behalf of the Japan Foundation.

What is the Japanese Language Proficiency Test?

The JLPT is an internationally recognised qualification for non-native speakers, sponsored by the Japan Foundation. JLPT in London

JLPT in London July 2021 has been cancelled.

In the interest of wellbeing during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to cancel the JLPT in London July 2021. 

We understand that this may cause inconvenience to people who have been awaiting to attain Japanese Language qualification. However, please note that our priority is the safety of both candidates and staff.

We are now working on refunds for all existing applicants.

JLPT in London December 2021 has been cancelled.

As per the Transformation & Change that SOAS University of London has been undergoing, JLPT in London is temporally suspended.  We are now in close communication with SOAS JRC (Japan Research Centre) and the Japan Foundation to gain a better structure which will benefit all our candidates in future.
