The following catalogues can help you locate Special Collections material you may wish to use. If you are unsure of what you are looking for, you can also explore our collections by region. If you are interested in a particular collection, you can also browse the Collections A to Z.
For archives, including correspondence, journals and photographs, click here to search the SOAS Archive Catalogue. This is separate from the main Library catalogue which deals with published material. The Archive Catalogue lists all of our catalogued archive collections, although for more detailed descriptions of some, you will still need to consult the published and unpublished guides available in the Special Collections Reading Room.
For printed material, including rare books, the Council for World Mission Library, Methodist Missionary Society Library, Burma Campaign Memorial Library and theses, Search the main SOAS Library Catalogue.
Swahili Manuscripts Database

Not all of our finding aids are available online, for detailed information you may need to use the published and unpublished indexes and guides to the archive and manuscript collections available in the Special Collections Reading Room. Please contact us for further details.
