SOAS moves into the world top 50 for Arts and Humanities in QS rankings 2020

SOAS University of London has once again featured amongst the world’s elite institutions in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2020. This year, SOAS has moved into the top 50 ranking in the world for Arts and Humanities with 10 of its subject areas across a broad range of disciplines ranked among the world’s top 100 and six ranked among the top 50.

Top ranking subjects include Development Studies at equal 6th (up from 8th in 2019), Anthropology at equal 13th (up from 16th in 2019) and Politics at 18th (up from 23rd in 2019). History has improved its ranking to equal 45th (up from 51-100 in 2019). Geography and Theology, Divinity & Religious Studies are also ranked in the top 50.

SOAS also had six subjects in the UK top ten rankings including Development Studies, Politics and Anthropology which all ranked at 5th in the UK. Theology, Divinity and Religious Studies and Linguistics ranked 9th and Modern Languages at 10th.

The 2020 QS subject rankings ranked 1,369 institutions across 48 subjects.
