Colfe’s School take part in global music event with Moroccan Gnawa and Chinese Pipa Musicians Pupils from Colfe’s School, listen to traditional Moroccan Gnawa musician and a Chinese pipa soloist play in a lively educational global music event held at SOAS.
Lao She and SOAS Zhaoxia Pang and Ruth Herd share the story of Shu Qingchun (舒庆春) (1899-1966), also known by his pen name Lao She (老舍). Lao She is one of the most prominent figures in the history of modern Chinese literature. During his lifetime, he was acclaimed a “Master of Language” (yǔyán dàshī 语言大师) and his novels and plays gained world renown.
Professor Annabelle Sreberny: 5 September 1949 - 30 December 2022 It is with tremendous sadness that we have learnt of the untimely death of Professor Annabelle Sreberny, Emeritus Professor at the SOAS Centre for Global Media and Communications. Professor Sreberny was one of the founding members and the first Chair of the Centre for Iranian Studies at SOAS.
