Biography
Kaweh Kerami is a PhD Candidate at SOAS, researching democratisation in Afghanistan. He also works as an adjunct lecturer at the American University of Afghanistan (AUAF). Kaweh is a research consultant at the Afghanistan Research and Evaluation Unit (AREU) as well.
He obtained his MSc in Comparative and European Politics, MSc in International Crimes and Criminology and BSc in Political Science at VU University Amsterdam. During his Master’s programmes, Kaweh was a junior researcher at the Center for International Criminal Justice and a member of Dutch Political Science Association. Also, he has worked as a journalist for the BBC World Service (London) for over three years.
PhD Research
Kaweh’s research interests lie mainly in democratisation in post-war societies. His PhD research is focused on elections and electoral politics in Afghanistan. He is currently in Kabul concluding his fieldwork.
