Clearing at SOAS

Conditional offers

We cannot make conditional Clearing offers. Applicants must meet both the school’s English language requirements and academic entry requirements in order for an offer to be extended.

Contextual offers

We cannot make contextual offers when an applicant is applying through Clearing.

Deferral requests

Clearing offers are not eligible for deferral. Deferral requests from clearing applicants will not be approved.

If you sat exams in Summer 2026

If you sat your exams in Summer 2026 and your results have been verified by UCAS but you hold a UCAS offer elsewhere, we can accept a Statement of Results to make a Clearing offer.       

However, if we are later unable to verify your results on your UCAS application, your application status will be changed back to Request for Qualifications and you will need to contact your school and ask that they email confirmation of your results on school letter headed paper to clearing@soas.ac.uk from an official school email address. They will need to include your full name and UCAS ID.

If you sat exams in Summer 2025 or earlier

If you sat your exams in Summer 2025 or earlier, please note we are unable to accept a Statement of Results from you. Please ensure you have emailed colour scans of your A level certificates to clearing@soas.ac.uk. If you do not have your original certificates, you will need to contact your school and ask that they email confirmation of your results on school letter headed paper to clearing@soas.ac.uk from an official school email address. They will need to include your full name and UCAS ID.
