Scholarship overview
The SOAS Grant is designed to support the applicants who are academic achievers but in financial need.
The scholarship is valued at £20,000 in total and can act as a fee waiver or bursary.

Eligibility criteria
- UK (Home) or International (Overseas) students.
- Current student, fully enrolled for 2024/25
- Part-time/Full-time programmes are eligible.
- Assessed on academic merit and financial need
Scholarship application deadline
- Be enrolled for one of SOAS’ degree programmes (at any level, e.g. Undergraduate, Postgraduate or Research) for 2024/25
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
Notification of results
The scholarship shortlisting and awarding period is expected to be completed by the end of December 2024, at the earliest. The successful candidate will be contacted first and once the award has been allocated, unsuccessful candidates will be notified.
06/12/2024 UPDATE - Please note that due to a high volume of applications, the awarding period for the SOAS Grant is now expected to be completed by the end of January 2025.

Apply for the scholarship by 12:00pm (midday UK local time) on Friday 15 November 2024

Terms and conditions
- Applicants will be selected based on academic merit and financial need.
- Amount can be deducted from tuition or paid out to student. Please note that we will only pay the scholarship out if tuition fees for 2024/25 are covered in full before the award is issued. If you have outstanding tuition fees at the point of awarding, then the funding will contribute primarily towards your tuition fees and any remainder will be paid directly to you as a stipend.
- Amount cannot be used towards any Pre-sessional English programme.
- Scholarship cannot be combined with any other major scholarship or studentship; applicants can apply for multiple scholarships, but can only accept one in the event they are successful in more than one application.
- The assessment of your application will be based on the information provided in your scholarship application and in your online application for your programme of study. The selection committee will be looking at the degree results, personal statement and answers included in the scholarship application.
- Students must be enrolled at SOAS for 2024/25
