SOAS International Academic Excellence Scholarship

The SOAS Academic Excellence Scholarship (International) is designed to recognise and award overseas applicants with outstanding academic performance. 

SOAS will be awarding up to 32 International Academic Excellence Scholarships worth various amounts to students from around the world, including up to 25 full fee waivers (100% of tuition fees) and up to eight partial fee waivers worth £20,000. 

Eligibility 

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:  

• Have an offer for a full-time postgraduate taught (on campus) programme.
• Be an overseas fee-paying student.
• Have a UK upper second class (2:1) or international equivalent.  

Please note that if you have applied for a 2-year programme, the scholarship will be applied to the first year of tuition fees only. 

Notification of results 

Successful applicants will be notified by the end of July 2026. 

Applying to multiple scholarships

You can apply for multiple scholarships and discounts, but can only accept and apply one to your tuition fees. You cannot combine scholarships and discounts (e.g., alumni, family, or partnership discount), so if you’re successful in more than one application you will need to choose the option with the highest value.
