Biography
Elaine teaches the visual arts of ancient and medieval China and the steppe and silk roads. She has an MA and PhD from SOAS for a thesis entitled "The Eight Immortals on Yuan and Ming Ceramics". She has also taught at Birkbeck and The University of Edinburgh. She was appointed a council member of the Oriental Ceramics Society in 2014 and 2019.
Research interests
Religious arts in China and cultural interaction on the steppe and silk roads.
