The festival features expert tuition in a range of Chinese instruments and performances by world-renowned musicians and groups.
International visiting performers include China’s distinguished yangqin dulcimer master Professor Zhao Xinzhi, The Silk Road Dulcimer Ensemble, guqin master Prof. Lin Weili, young composer/conductor Ray Lin (Australia), conductor/Chinese flautist Chen Yi-Chuan , and composers Professor Li Xinyan (USA) and Sun Keting (UK) who will premiere exciting new compositions.
UK virtuoso musicians and tutors include Prof. Cheng Yu (pipa), Yang Kang , Mengdie Ji (guzheng), Zhang Jiaqi (guqin/ruan), Zongpu Lu (dizi), Dennis Lee (xiao and xun), Huang Ziyang (erhu), Michael Skelton (percussion) and Wang Wei (Beijing/Kun Opera). Musicians on Western instruments include rising stars Laure Chan and Adrian Wang on violin, Li Siqian on piano and other more artists.
The festival is organised by China Arts (UK), the London Youlan Qin Society, and UK Chinese Music, in partnership with SOAS University of London.
