The SOAS Afro-Latin Workshop Festival is a unique opportunity to meet musicians sharing their knowledge through six workshops on select African and Latin American music traditions.
Where else could you celebrate the 75-year anniversary of steel pan performance in the UK as well as travel to the heart of Moroccan Gnawa in just one weekend?
Workshops will take place from 2:00pm in the JCR (Junior Common Room) and 5:00pm in the DLT (Djam Lecture Theatre) respectively. Together we can keep accessible live music alive at SOAS, the world’s university.
Programme
- Friday: Afro-Columbian Bullerengue and Cuban Comparsa
- Saturday: Brazilian Percussion and Trinidad and Tobago Steel Pan
- Sunday: Senegalese Kora and Moroccan Gnawa
