About this event
Join us for a special screening of EVOL, followed by an in-depth Q&A session with the film’s director and writer.
This is a unique opportunity to explore the creative journey behind a powerful and intimate story of ambition, resilience, and love.
EVOL is a gripping tale of dreams, resilience, and love. It follows the story of Elijah, a Black British rapper who once tasted minor success but now finds himself living out of his car, holding tight to the fragments of his ambition. Through hardship and uncertainty, his devoted girlfriend Lauren becomes his anchor, encouraging him to continue pursuing his passion for music.
Together, they craft a bold plan to leave behind the struggles of London and seek new opportunities in Atlanta, the vibrant heart of hip-hop culture. But as they chase a brighter future, Elijah must confront both his dreams and the weight of his past. EVOL is a raw and intimate exploration of learning, sacrifice, and self-discovery.
Q&A session
After the screening, stay for a live Q&A with the film’s director (Niyi Akin) and writer (Blair Gyabaah), who will share insights into the creative process, the themes behind the film, and the journey from concept to screen.
