NPR international correspondent Emily Feng, who spent nearly a decade reporting in China and Taiwan, talks about her new book of essays and reportage, Let Only Red Flowers Bloom.
Feng will discuss on-the-ground reporting conditions in Xi Jinping's China over the last few years and how the book's theme of identity dovetails with China's national security and foreign policy priorities.

About the speaker
Emily Feng
Emily Feng is an award-winning international correspondent for NPR covering China, Taiwan and beyond. Previously a foreign correspondent for The Financial Times, she lived in Beijing from 2015 to 2022, and then Taiwan from 2022 to 2024.
