About this event
Join us for a dynamic introduction to how Gender Studies is taught and imagined at SOAS.
This webinar explores how the MA Gender Studies and MA Gender and Sexuality programmes use queer and trans feminist theory as a critical method to challenge Western‑centric knowledge and to support radical social transformation across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. You’ll gain insight into how these programmes centre global perspectives, foreground lived experience, and engage with activism, community work, and decolonial scholarship.
This session is ideal for Postgraduate Taught students interested in gender, sexuality, social justice, and critical theory. You’ll also learn more about the structure of the MA programmes, the interdisciplinary approach at SOAS, and the wider academic community you’ll be joining.
We are running two sessions of the webinar, in the morning at 10:00am (UK time) and then later in the afternoon at 5:00pm (UK time). Please book for the session that's most convenient for you.
This event is part of our SOAS student webinar series, designed to provide you with all the essential information about being a SOAS student in London. Join us to explore topics like how to apply, secure funding, find accommodation, and enjoy student life once you arrive.
