About this event

The SOAS College of Law and the Centre for Islamic and Middle Eastern Law (CIMEL), in collaboration with the Qatar Finance Centre (QFC) and other partners is delighted to announce the 2026 SOAS-QFC Annual Public Lecture on Islamic Finance.

The aim of these annual public lectures is to advance scholarship and contribute to the debates on Islamic finance and to strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange and innovation amongst economists, lawyers, shari‘ah scholars and regulators in the field.

Over the years the lectures have contributed significantly to the development of industry practices and helped to educate society about the ethical role that Islamic finance can play in modern financial markets.

The lecture is organised in collaboration with the Qatar Finance Centre (QFC) and other academic and professional partners including, the CIS-HBKU, ISRA-INCEIF, AAOIFI, and OIC-AC. 

Registration

The lecture is open to the public, but registration is required as spaces are limited.
