Nobody Nowhere – Self-Portrait of a Ghost (2026) is a film both by and about autistic artist and advocate, Polly Samuel (aka Donna Williams). Filmed in the last months of her life, Polly offers a personal account of her experience and understanding of autism, multiplicity, relationship, fame, terminal illness, and what it means to be human.
The writing and publishing of her best-selling autobiography, Nobody Nowhere (1992), is the turning point from which this film moves forward into the present and back into the past.
It may appear to be a film about my life and about me, but I see self in others and others in self and I feel this is not just a film about me or for me. It’s a film about humanness and it’s a film to share with the world, and help people to find themselves through it, help them to see themselves from a range of different angles, to go beyond their own box-mindedness and to come home.

Drawing on neurodiverse-friendly practices, each screening features reduced volume and low lighting. To ensure maximum accessibility and a personalised viewing experience, light chatter, movement in and out of the room, and sensory-friendly objects are fully supported.
