About this event

The session will be chaired by the acclaimed media producer Mukti Jain Campion, whose distinguished career spans more than three decades producing award-winning BBC television and radio documentaries. 

She will be joined by a panel of discussants, including Bobby Balogun, Senior Lecturer in Sociology at SOAS University of London. Together, they will bring a wealth of expertise and diverse perspectives to what promises to be a stimulating and thought-provoking lecture.

Taking medicine as an example, Saini will be sharing findings from her forthcoming book, Other: The Dangers of Sorting People by Race and Sex.

About the speaker

Angela Saini is an assistant professor of science writing at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the author of four books, including The Patriarchs, which was nominated for the Orwell Prize. Her forthcoming book Other: The Dangers of Sorting People by Race and Sex is out in January 2027, will explore the limits and perils of human classification.
