Biography
Georgie Pope is a music promoter and entrepreneur working to encourage cross cultural exchange through music and dance. She completed her PhD in ethnomusicology, focusing on Vaishnavite dance practices from Assam, Northeast India, at King's College London in May 2020. She now divides her time between running public-facing music events and courses for SOAS University of London; developing projects with Arab music promoter Marsm; and creating workshops and resources for schools looking to diversify their music curriculum, under the auspices of her organisation the Global Music Academy.
