SOAS joint first in UK for international faculty, according to QS
SOAS’s diversity was once again recognised with its international faculty ranked joint first in the UK and international students ranked 21 in the UK, according to the QS World University Rankings 2027. SOAS was also named among the UK's top universities for graduate employment.
The results also showed that SOAS graduates are highly sought with SOAS named among the top UK institutions for Employment Outcomes, ranked at 14. This marked a significant rise of 164 places compared to last year.

SOAS’s work in Sustainability increased with a 140-point rise, placing it 41 in the UK. There were also noted improvements across Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation and Citations per Faculty in the rankings.
Professor Joanna Newman, SOAS Provost & Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), said: "Today's results build on our strong performance in the subject rankings, where 13 subjects were placed in the global top 100. Our overall position, our standing on graduate employment, and the transformation in our sustainability score all reflect a university that knows its purpose and is committed to excellent education and to demonstrating the real-world impact of its research."
In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, four of SOAS subjects ranked in the global top 25. Development Studies, ranked second globally, Politics 16, Anthropology 19 and History of Art 24. The subject area of Arts & Humanities is also in the global top 100, ranking 88.
The QS World University Rankings 2027 consist of 1,504 institutions with 93 in the UK.
