The library is generally closed on bank holidays, as well as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Sometimes, we are open outside of the school closure dates; please get in touch if you're unsure about timings or would like further information.

August bank holiday

The library will be open for the Summer bank holiday (Monday 31 August 2026) from 10:00am to 6:00pm

The gallery is closed on bank holidays as well as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. The gallery is also closed during exhibition changeovers.

School closure dates

School closure days at SOAS usually occur around the Christmas and Easter holidays. Opening times during the closure period will be announced closer to the closure dates. Please get in touch if you're unsure about closure dates or would like further information.

Staff availability

Staff are available to help from 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. You can find them roaming the building or at the service desk on the ground floor.
