Biography
Dr. Clara Della Croce’s areas of expertise are Human Rights law, Refugee and Immigration law, European law and Development law. She holds a degree in Law from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (LLB), an LLM from the University of Hull, a PhD from the University of Southampton and a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) from Oxford Brookes University. Clara has taught at SOAS since 2000. She joined us after working for the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in Geneva and for the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington D.C. Clara has also spent time in Brussels at the European Commission, working on aspects of the external relations of the EU and developing countries. Earlier on, Clara worked in Brazil and the UK as a commercial lawyer. Since 2009, she has been involved in different projects in the UK concerning refugees, asylum seekers, immigration detainees and more recently foreign prisoners. Clara’s current work focuses on the intersection between theoretical and practical issues regarding asylum, immigration and human rights law. She is currently also a Knowledge Exchange Fellow and Associate Lecturer at the School of Law at Oxford Brookes University.
