About this event

In the 2025 SOAS Centre of Taiwan Studies Summer School, we are honoured to have Fan Ching share insights from the Her Footprints project—an initiative that maps and commemorates feminist heritage across Taiwan.

Her Footprints Tour is a feminist heritage mapping project initiated by grassroots women’s groups in Taiwan since 2005. By tracing and marking women’s landmarks across the island and creating walking routes, it brings feminist heritage into public spaces and everyday life. This talk also reflects on recent developments, opportunities, and emerging concerns over tourism-oriented narratives and the diminishing feminist consciousness in these public representations.
