Heba concluded her master's degree in Violence, Conflict, and Development at SOAS University of London (2018-2019) after winning a UK government Chevening Award in 2018.

She is currently based in Cairo, Egypt and works remotely as a Research Fellow at the United Nations Interregional Crime and Research Institute (UNICRI) on issues of CBRN Security. Heba also possesses extensive theoretical knowledge and practical expertise in the field of peace and security, particularly on issues of cross-border threats, forced migration, and transnational crimes.

Prior to pursuing her masters, she has worked for four years as a researcher, and then program associate at the Cairo International Center for Conflict Resolution, Peacekeeping and Peacebuilding (CCCPA) under the “Transnational Threats” program.

Believing in the value of networking and sharing of experiences, Heba has applied for the Alumni Ambassador position to engage with SOAS alumni and prospective students in Egypt and beyond.

She is ready to offer support and advice on issues related to living and studying in the UK. She is also ready to keenly listen to any concerns and challenges you might encounter and share any practical experience and resources that could be of help and support.
