Minimum entry requirements

These are guidelines only and do not guarantee entry. Each application will be judged on its own merits.

Undergraduate study

Applicants from Indonesia who have completed the Senior Secondary School Certificate are required to take a University Foundation Programme.

The International Foundation Courses and English Language Studies Centre (IFCELS) at SOAS offers a 10 month University Foundation Programme (ICC) for international students who wish to undertake an undergraduate degree at a British universities.

Students who have completed the International Baccalaureate (IB), A-Levels or AP examinations will be considered for direct entry to our undergraduate programmes.

Postgraduate study

Applicants with a Sarjana degree achieved with high grades and a cumulative GPA of between 3.3 and 3.5/4.0 will be considered.

Research applicants would normally be expected to have completed a Masters qualification from a good university.

In addition you should check the individual programme of study for any specific academic requirements; please refer to the postgraduate prospectus or postgraduate entry requirements.

English language requirement

Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate they meet SOAS’ English Language entry requirements .

For students who do not meet the exact entry requirement SOAS offers excellent Pre-Sessional and Summer English language courses which can help to achieve the required language proficiency.

Scholarships

SOAS offers a number of scholarships and bursaries and there are other external scholarships funded by the University of London, the British Government and other organisations.

Careers

The SOAS Careers Service is part of The Careers Group, University of London, which is the biggest careers service in the country. The Careers Service provides a range of services including a careers information library, career counselling services and various events throughout the year, to help with career choice, job hunting, applications and interviews.
