Entry requirements

Undergraduate study

The Russian Attestat (Certificate of Secondary Education) is not sufficient for entry to a SOAS undergraduate degree. Applicants from Russia would be expected to take a one year university foundation programme unless they have alternative qualifications eg: IB, A-Levels, APs.

The International Foundation Courses and English Language Studies Centre (IFCELS) at SOAS offers a preparatory year for international students seeking entry to undergraduate degrees at British universities.

International Baccalaureate: For International Baccalaureate (IB) applicants we require between 32 and 38 points depending on the programme applied for.

For full details please see our undergraduate entry requirements.

Postgraduate study

For further information about postgraduate entry requirements for students from Russia, please contact: postgraduateadmissions@soas.ac.uk

English language requirements

To ensure that you can fully benefit from your studies at SOAS, you will need to demonstrate that you meet our minimum English language entry requirements .

Foundation course

Those applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements or would like to improve their English language before studying for a degree, could consider applying for one of the foundation programmes offered at the SOAS IFCELS centre.

Students can improve their English while studying academic courses in an area of their choice, including Development Studies, International Business, Media and Communication and International Politics.
