Plundering Security? The Evolution of Khaki Capital in Contemporary Thailand Security forces tend to enjoy a monopoly over violence within any given state. In some states, such as Thailand, they are also leading political and economic actors. Thus, military finance or “khaki capital” is of paramount importance. Using the framework of Historical Institutionalism, this study scrutinizes the path-dependent evolution of khaki capital over time in Thailand.
Macrofinancial causes and risks of deforestation, land conversion and water stress: the role of central banks and financial supervisors This project develops a conceptual framework and a scenario analysis of (i) the transmission channels through which deforestation, land conversion and water stress interact with the macroeconomy and the financial system and (ii) the role that financial and monetary policies can play in helping address the environmental crisis.
