The Department of Media Studies at SOAS is an interdisciplinary space for research and teaching in global media and digital communications from a non-Western perspective with a particular focus on Asia, Africa and the Middle East and their diasporas.
The department offers postgraduate education with a range of modules and structures that address the entanglement of media in lives, in politics, development, war and change. We offer distinctive doctoral supervision and support innovative and groundbreaking research.
