Peter Charway is the managing partner at Wayfields Partners Ltd, a boutique investment advisory-focused firm based in Accra, Ghana. He is an investment analyst with experience in investment feasibility, project planning, corporate finance and advisory services.

Wayfields Partners is a company he started in June, 2019 and currently consults in various sectors of the economy by providing bespoke strategic services to mature, mid and small-sized companies both locally and internationally. As a mentor at a couple of startup incubation hubs, Peter also provides support to young local entrepreneurs and promoters of various enterprises.

Peter was previously with ICPL, an investment firm in Ghana as the head of corporate finance and advisory services and business strategy from 2015 to 2019.

Prior to that he was, among others, an analyst and a head of operations at various institutions within the finance space in Ghana. Peter had an extensive 4-year experience from 2006 to 2010 as an Assessor on adult training courses (helping candidates to reflect on their practice to meet the standards of the Award) at Tower Hamlets, Lewisham and DTK colleges, and also as a teaching assistant at Brampton Manor and other secondary schools in various parts of London, UK.

Peter has an MSc in Finance and Financial Law (2010) from SOAS University of London, UK and BA in Economics and Sociology (2003) from the University of Ghana, Accra. He also has a certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice (2004), UK; a certificate in Further Education  Teaching (2005), UK and a Securities Market Certificate (2014) from the Ghana Stock Exchange.

Peter is a highly motivated, determined and organised person with the ability to effectively multi-task and produce results in challenging situations. He is a good team player and he always endeavours to parlay his skills and experiences to the great advantage of the various teams he works with. His skill set also includes excellent communication, presentation and the use of Excel, among other key Microsoft packages, for financial analysis, modelling and business planning.

He loves to write on economics, finance and development topics and has published  articles in the Business and Financial Times newspapers of Ghana.

Peter is the ambassador for SOAS Alumni in Ghana (2016 to date).
