Collected works by eminent Malay and Indonesian scholar guest edited by Farouk Yahya Dr Farouk Yahya, Research Associate at SOAS, has guest edited the collected works on Malay manuscripts, paper and watermarks of the late Dr Russell Jones who was lecturer at SOAS for two decades, in the 60s to 80s.
Language Scholarship Thanks to the generosity of alumni who believe in the importance of studying languages at SOAS, a fund has been created to support language scholarships at SOAS for master’s students who would like to incorporate this option into their studies.
Lao She and SOAS Zhaoxia Pang and Ruth Herd share the story of Shu Qingchun (舒庆春) (1899-1966), also known by his pen name Lao She (老舍). Lao She is one of the most prominent figures in the history of modern Chinese literature.
