Biography

Dr Abdulaziz Alabood has recently been awarded the role of Honorary Research Associate at SOAS University of London. 

He is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisational Studies with academic and consulting experience in both the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. Dr Alabood received his bachelor’s degree in economics and administrative sciences from Al Imam University (Saudi Arabia) and later obtained a master’s degree in human resource management from the University of Southampton. He completed his Doctoral degree in Human Resource Management at SOAS University of London (UK), where his research focused on e-HRM, employee empowerment, and organisational performance across different cultural and national contexts.

He holds an Advanced Diploma in Strategic People Management from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). Dr Alabood’s research interests include strategic human resource management, digital HR practices, employee engagement, organisational behaviour, and cross-cultural management. He has applied advanced quantitative methods, including structural equation modelling, to explore contemporary HR issues.

He has published in peer-reviewed international journals such as Talent Development & Excellence, Benchmarking: An International Journal, and Problems and Perspectives in Management. His recent work examines the dynamics of workplace agility, motivation, and innovation within organisations in Saudi Arabia and the UK.

Dr Alabood is actively involved in executive education and professional training, having initiated and led university-level entrepreneurship programs and consultancy projects. He regularly engages with academic and practitioner audiences to bridge research and practice in HRM and organisational development.
