Your gift to our departments and schools gives us the freedom to respond to the priorities of our students and staff – and secures the future of education at SOAS.

Unrestricted gifts to the departments or schools can be used to support a wide range of activities. These change over time, but may include:

• alleviating student hardship
• student awards & prizes
• the improvement of departmental student facilities
• research-associated travel by students and/or doctoral researchers
• supplementing existing scholarships and bursaries

Gifts to your department will be directed towards the area of greatest need at the discretion of the Head of Department. Your unrestricted gift allows us to make bold decisions, to explore new avenues that have the potential to change the world, and to create a culture that rewards innovation and risk-taking research.
