Biography
Dr. Zoha Waseem holds a PhD from the School of Security Studies, King’s College London. Her doctoral research focused on the impacts of securitisation policies in urban areas, especially on law enforcement agencies and urban policing. Her thesis employed a multidisciplinary approach, drawing upon frameworks from security studies and police studies. For her PhD, she carried out extensive ethnographic fieldwork in Pakistan. Dr. Waseem has a postgraduate degree in Terrorism, Security and Society from King’s College London and an LLB (Honours) from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
Teaching: International Security
Research: Current research interests include policing, urban security, South Asia, terrorism and counterterrorism.
Thesis: Enforcement, Encounters and the Everyday: The Militarisation and Informalisation of Policing in Pakistan
