Dr John Clarke

John Clarke is Curator of Himalayan and Southeast Asian Art at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He specialises in the art and culture of the Himalayas and of Southeast Asia. He has published widely on the arts of both regions authoring many articles and chapters in books. He is also the author of “Tibet, Caught in Time, Garnet 1997, and “Himalayan Jewellery”, V&A, 2004. He organised a symposium on Buddhist Sculpture at the V&A in 2010 and was the Lead Curator for the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation Galleries of Buddhist Art that opened at the V&A in June 2017.
